Direction is more important than speed
A month of noticing...
From "Slowanuary" to the "warm-up month" to the "gathering season" or my personal favourite "the noticing month," it really felt like January had a new PR team this year. Or maybe I've just perfected the art of tuning my feeds and creating an ecosystem around me that is truly aligned with my values.
This year, I didn't go hurtling out of the starting blocks in pursuit of chasing a better me or levelling up my business. (My out-of-office has been on for most of this month.) Intentionally, I took the time to notice, gather, sow, and nourish the intentions, goals, and values that I want to shape my upcoming season(s).
Some of these seasons will extend into this coming year, while others will span the next five years, as I anchor myself in my guiding word for this chapter of my personal and professional life: LEGACY.
Here are some of my noticings from this month;
I'm done with 'working hard'. Working with ease is the only badge of honour I wish to wear now.
How much
peacejoy the WhatsApp archive feature brings me.Past investments now serving current and future me.
My heart bursting with joy as I witness my sisterfriends in their new chapters.
Saying "no" or "not right now" is short-term discomfort for long-term gain and pleasure.
The energy of the colour orange.
Procrastinating over setting up email auto-responses highlights where communicating boundaries currently feel sticky.
Glimmers of TV set life sparking joy.
My road to peace and fulfilment is enriched with boredom and discipline.
Pausing new purchases and shopping from my archives - (this is particularly serving me well as I look through previous business courses and coaching experiences I've purchased.)
I'm excited to amplify the volume of my soapbox on working well in alignment with your energy not against it.
The library card I got in 2020 looks far too pristine (more borrowing, less purchasing).
The shock on my therapist's face when I told her I haven't been on a holiday longer than 4 days since 2019.
Change, evolution, transition, and growth are all sides of the same coin, but each word activates my nervous system differently.
Spacious flow is a place in which I wish to live.
An invitation to reflect
Two questions to carry with you into February;
One
Which areas of my life or work do I need to create more space for noticing?
Two
Where do I need to release the pressure and just allow an experience to become an experiment to collect the data that you need for nourishing next season's buds?
If you would like to reflect in community, about any of the prompts above feel free to leave a comment below or share your thoughts and pictures on notes
