Stuck in Drafts ...

“As I stand on the edge of the halfway point of the year, one foot out, one foot in, one foot on.

I know what you’re thinking that’s one foot too many. But that is where I greet you today frozen in the plains of the in-between of transition transmission? Transition? Maybe both are right? “

Above is the opening of the post that was going to greet you two Sundays ago. Beautifully timed to land in your inbox as the clock struck the halfway point of the year.

I was going to share some words of comfort for those of you who were also feeling activated by the deafening realisation that we are now halfway through 2023 and what lies in front of you may very well be a list of unchecked boxes of your 2023 things to do list.

That post still sits in the graveyard of my drafts folder.

My notion boards, voice memos and notes app are full of pieces stuck in drafts.

The list goes on (and on), each title carrying with it a chapter of a life I have lived or one I hope to live…

Sometimes we need to put things in drafts because we are still processing them.

Other times we put things in drafts because we are too scared to take action.

An invitation to reflect

My invitation to you today is to explore which parts of your life are currently sitting in the drafts folder. Are they there because you are still processing, or because you are too scared to take action?

As I went to draw this piece to a close, some words I previously published flashed before me.

“The road of change is not one of comfort, but through the discomfort, we bloom.”

So one final question for you;

If you surrendered to the fact change is uncomfortable and just let it be. What is the first thing in your drafts folder you would action today?
